The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare recently announced the results of a survey on 'net cafe refugees', people who stay all night in net cafes because they have no place to sleep. This was widely reported in the mainstream media. But Kamagasaki Shien-Kikou , a non-govermental homeless support organization based in Osaka and who partly helped the survey, points to many differences between the Tokyo oriented statistics and the real situation in Osaka. Kamagasaki Shien-Kikou prepaired a press briefing but cancelled for some reason.
