The DPJ is a bizarre party that is mostly the same as the LDP. It contains a few right leaning members of the former socialists and many ex LDPers. It is a Neo liberal party. Nowhere near any of the social democratic parties in Europe. They are not the main opposition party. Only in terms of numbers is that so. But the most consistently anti-Bush propaganda parties have been the communists and socialists. many in the DPJ are actually in favoor of refueling IF under UN auspices.

Questioning the premise that what Bush says MUST be true is certainly valid, and even asking who caused 9-11 is valid. But the real issue is that the US kills and has killed in the name of stopping terror when nothing it is doing has any relation to any terror the US was a victim of. Whether the US actually attacked itself has been brought up by some on the left, but it takes away from the more central issue that the US has been a sponsor of terrorism, in creating the forces which became the Taliban to fight against the former Soviets, by arming Saddam Huessin (and then lying that he had weapomns of mass destruction much later on).

There is no reason one should trust the DPJ. Some of them even favor a stronger military. If one is going to vote, vote for teh socialists, communists and independents who have consistently opposed US policies, such as lying about the introduction of nuclear weapons into Japan. If one doesn't feel like suppoorting political parties, then sign petitions, demonstrate, talk to people and get them to drop support of either the DPJ or the LDP. Likewise Komeito, whose Soka Gakani often sends money to peace oprganizations but which actually has always supporting the US in both the first and second gulf wars.

Arguing whether 9-11 really happened is beside the point. More important is stopping US agression and duplicity.
