スペインのアナキスト在監者、国際的な連絡先／文通相手を求む。

スペイン、カディズにある新たな最厳警備刑務所プエルトIIIでは、収容者数人
がプエルトIIIの隔離房棟フィエス（FIES）ユニットにおける残虐な状況を公開
すべく闘争を続けている。ラファ・「ジョンバラ」・マルティネズ・ゼアはカ
ディズにおかれている長期在監者の一人である。彼はイタリア、ドイツ、トルコ
において、隔離房棟「刑務所の中の刑務所」の終止を求め、他の在監者と共にハ
ンガー・ストライキに参加してきた。収容条件の改善だけでなく、刑務所システ
ムとそれを必要とする社会の終結を求め世間の関心を喚起した。

今年一月と四月にラファはハンガー・ストライキを行った。最初のハンガー・ス
トライキはスペインとトルコで隔離房棟に反対して闘争を続ける収容者たちに連
帯の意思を示したものだった。二度目は、勝利に終わったが、彼の収容状況につ
いて特定の要求をしたものだった（勉学が続けられるように全ての必要な教材の
返却を要求した）。

というわけで、ラファは考え方や経験を手紙をやり取りして交換するための国際
的な連絡先を求めている。素晴らしいユーモアのセンスの持ち主で君から便りが
あれば非常に喜ぶだろう。彼はオーストラリアで育ったがその後スペインに戻っ
た。彼は十年半の刑期をつとめており、二年以内に釈放を予定している。彼は英
語とスペイン語が分かり、君の地域で起こっていることについての手紙や写真を
熱望している。日本にいるアナキストの同士との接触をもって、今回のG８が北
海道で起こっていると知ったラファは、アジアでの運動について殆ど知らないこ
とを自覚し、日本だけでなくアジア全域のアナキストとコンタクトをとりたがっ
ている。

ラファは自己や他の囚人の尊厳を擁護し、また彼のアナキストな考え方を公表し
たことで、刑務所の中で権威者たちより抑圧を受けてきた。彼に手紙を書く時に
は、彼宛の内容も刑務所当局によって読まれる可能性があるということを覚えて
ほしい。だがらラファや君をトラブルに巻き込むようなことは書かないで下さ
い。でも、だからといって、彼に素晴らしい手紙を書こうとか、連帯意思と反抗
の言葉を添えたハガキの一枚でも送ろうとかいう気をそがれないで！

また書く際には返信先を忘れずに。でなければ刑務所がラファに君の手紙を渡さ
ないことがある。もし返事がこないなら、刑務所側がラファに手紙を渡していな
いか、ラファにお金が無くてまだ返信を書けないでいるのかもしれない。それで
も、心配しないで。そういう手紙があることが、ラファ自身にも、刑務所当局に
対しても大きな意味を持つ。刑務所当局は、そういう手紙で、彼の収容状況に国
際的な注目が置かれていると知る。だから人知れず、彼に嫌がらせをすることが
できなくなるのだ！

Anarchist prisoner in Spain looking for international contacts/pen
pals　

For some time, in the new maxi-prison of Puerto III, Cadiz, several
prisoners are struggling to expose the brutal conditions in the
FIES units - which are isolation wings in Puerto III. Rafa "Jon-
Bala" Martinez Zea is one of these long term prisoners in Cadiz. He
has participated in hunger strikes with other prisoners in Spain,
Italy, Germany and Turkey for the end of the isolation units, the
"prison within the prison", agitating not only for better
conditions for all prisoners and the abolition of the life
sentence, but for the end of the prison system and the society
which needs it.

In January and April of this year he was on hungerstrike; the first
one in solidarity with prisoners in Spain and Turkey who struggle
against the isolation units, the second one - which he won - for
some specific demands about his prison conditions (return of all
his materials which enable him to continue his studies).

So Rafa is looking for more international contacts to write to and
exchange ideas and experiences. He has a great sense of humour and
is happy to receive news and hear from you. He grew up in Australia
and then moved back to Spain, he is serving a 10 and a half year
sentence and is due for release in 2 years. He understands English
and Spanish and is really hoping for some letters and/or photos
about what is happening in your area! After contact with some
anarchist comrades in Japan who told him about the G8 happening in
Hokkaido, Rafa wanted to make some contact with Anarchists not only
in Japan but also across Asia, because he admits that he knows very
little about the movement there.


Rafa has been under repression within the jail by the authorities
for defending the dignity of himself and other prisoners, and for
the hunger strikes and making his anarchist ideas known. It should
be remembered that anything you write to Rafa might be read by the
prison authorities so don't write anything that could get him or
you into trouble, but don't let that hold you back from writing him
a great letter or even just dropping him a postcard with a few
words of solidarity and rebellion!

You should also write a return address or the prison might not let
Rafa have your mail. If you don't get a reply it could be because
the prison has not let Rafa have your mail, or Rafa might not be
able to afford to write back just yet, but don't worry, these
letters make a big difference to Rafa and also the prison
authorities, because they know there is international attention on
his condition. They know they won't be able to harass him without
people knowing about it!
