The 2008 World Social Forum's Global Day of Action took place on January 26. Events were held worldwide through the work of countless local groups. Aimed at providing alternative ideas to the neoliberal order, it is organized annually to coincide with the Davos Summit. Tokyo's meeting was organized by Attac Japan, People's Plan Study Group, Japan Consumer's Union, Anti-WTO & FTA Grassroots Campaign, and the Freeters' Union. Events included workshops, traditional Korean dance, songs, and numerous speeches and roundtable discussions.
